The date of this film is July, 1942. USS Yorktown (CV-5) was lost a month earlier at the Battle of Midway. This may be footage (4:22-5:20) of damage sustained by Yorktown during that battle. The after footage (5:31-7:50) of the machine gun battery of a cruiser before standard installation of 20mm and 40mm.
